This morning (approx 6am) two roe deer emerged from the bottom of Pony Wood, crossed the farm track and ran up through the field towards Aldcliffe. Haven’t seen deer there for months. Also 8 shelducks in West Field and a hare in Flora Field

A treat for Michael this morning. I forgot to post last week seeing 5 shell ducks sitting contentedly in West Field. I think it was Thursday 30th April, for the record.
I suspect that something roe deer size has been sleeping in the long grass under our apple tree – need to protect the orchids again.
