There were 7 snipe feeding at School Pond yesterday evening. Still a few house martins around too (in fact one pair are still tending a very late nest nearby).

Paul thought he would see how his skills matched up against Jon as he wandered slowly past School Pond yesterday. Nothing…. but was quite gobsmacked when his presence put up 3 snipe just over the fence in Big Meadow. Looking promising for the first flush count of the season on Monday.
