Queens Award for Voluntary Service

Fairfield Association Friends

Fairfield Association Friends exists to give people the opportunity to make regular donations to help the Association continue to maintain and improve the different green spaces we all enjoy.

In addition to the regular maintenance and development of all the sites, here are some examples of what the Fairfield Association has done with money raised and donated since 2011:

  • Created the Fairfield Nature Reserve and built two very popular new footpaths.
  • Landscaped the Nature Reserve with new and restored hedges, ponds and scrapes, and created hay meadows which improve the habitat for wildlife and wildflowers every year.
  • Helped create the Aldcliffe Triangle – a beautiful small park on an area of derelict land by the Canal.
  • Maintained, and now are completely renovating Fairfield Playground with a new surface and play equipment.
  • Provided tools and training for volunteers working on the various sites.
