SUMMARY:Wild-flower Planting in Freeman's Wood
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday 23 March from 10.30 to 12.30 we will be aiming to plant wild-flower seeds over the whole of the central\, oval meadow area. We need help to do this – so if you can spare an hour or so\, please come along to the central meadow in the middle of the wood. \n\n\n\n\nView Larger Map\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTen species\n\n\n\nWe have ten species of wild flowers: Yellow Rattle\, Common Knapweed\, Oxeye Daisy\, Ribwort Plantain\, Meadow Buttercup\, Selfheal\, Meadow Crane’s Bill\, Betony\, Ragged Robin and Meadow Vetchling. \n\n\n\nWhat you need\n\n\n\nWe will divide the meadow into nineteen squares\, and the idea is that two or three people will plant up each square. We will need to plant into bare earth. The area has been cut and there is bare earth in a lot of places\, but you will sometimes have to use your boots or strong shoes to create bare earth. You might also consider bringing a spade or small trowel / fork. Full instructions will be given on the day. An empty jam jar would also be useful! \n\n\n\nLet us know\n\n\n\nIf you can\, please let us know on info@freemanswood.org.uk if you are intending to come along\, this can help get a rough idea of numbers so we can plan ahead. Thank you in advance! \n\n\n\n(Yellow Rattle\, CC BY-SA 2.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0\, via Wikimedia Commons)
